Sanvi's 3rd birthday celebration .. great time with her friends

This year Sanvi's birthday came just after the Minions movie released and she became this great Minion fan those days. Kids' love for anything in particular keeps changing so fast at this age that I was worried to freeze on such a specific theme.

So sharing so pictures of the fun-filled evening we celebrated with her friends. She had a great time rocking it and we had a great time planning and executing it.

Look at her all dressed up :)
Having a theme often restricts the freako in me to stick to the concept. Ratul often gets annoyed with the level of specifics I get into, but that's the Designer - Virgo in me. And I enjoy it.  And having a daughter, how can you not get dressy? I managed to pick up the following 2 from Zara, Reliance and here and there.

Then came the Minions. I made these very simple chart paper Minions and used printouts for the eyes and mouth. Saves time rather than try perfecting  the features, as I had so little time left in hand. The popcorn cups was a quick idea to just have the eyes.

The kids had so much fun, bouncing around the mattresses and with non-stop supply of candies, lollipops, popcorns and giggles. They had some fun playing passing the parcel, performing and dancing to the music.

Some decor items we made super quick.

Just look at her cute expression. I had to share this pic. She was so happy.

She danced non-stop the entire evening. How can something so small have so much of energy?

We also went to meet her play group friends and the temple. Distributed some chocolates and smiles. She was surely enjoying all the attension.

Cant believe, time is just flying and she is a big girl now.

My blessing is 3 already

Time is running so fast and you are 3 already. I think you are doing a great job growing up into this very adorable darling of your mumma and deta. You are strong and bold, cute and cuddly, compassionate and kind.

I don't know how good or successful a mom i will be to you, like the society expects, but I can promise you a lifetime of friendship, giggles, companionship and lots and lots of love and care.

I will be stern at times and you may not like it. But I know that you will grow up to know and understand why it was necessary. Like they say, By the time a woman realizes her mother was right, she has a daughter who thinks she’s wrong.

But I promise you that I will also spoil you with many many things, cant wait to go out with you alone on our shopping sprees, ice-cream and pastry dates, camp-outs under the stars, long drives and what not. My mind is flooding with fun ideas that I cant wait for you to grow up.

I can promise you my ears will always be open to all the words you have to share. I can promise that my arms will always be open for a hug anytime you want. i can promise you that my eyes will be open to see your dreams and I will prepare you to go and grab them make them come true.

I want you to be strong, a very strong woman and I will help you be her, the one, I am still aspiring to become. I want you to be in love with yourself first, before you are ready to love another soul. I want you to accept yourself as you are first, before you are ready to accept someone else, because it needs great courage.

I want you to fly, and I want you to know that I will be there to catch you when you fall. I might not be successful each and every time, but I promise you that I will help you rise through the tears and wounds.

So here's wishing you a Happy Birthday my darling daughter I want you to know that I love you and that I will always be there for you.

A Tutu for my Ballerina for her second birthday - DIY Tutu

Who doesn't want your little princess to shine and stand out of the crowd on her birthday? Almost every kid walks in to the birthday party in their own birthday dress too. And every parent makes sure that their lil one shines in their own birthdays .. SO .. in that case, what do you do?
I found this awesome DIY way to give her, her favorite princess attire.
All you need is some lovely net (in your desired colors) and a ribbon. Below are some pictures explaining the steps. Hope you like it.

Step 1: Get your fav color net and cut them in strips in the desired length.

Step 2: Tie them to a ribbon. I kept the ribbon long and flowy, so that I can tie the ends into a beautiful bow.

Step 3: Keep going on and on with alternate color bands and keep a track of
her tiny lil waist.

So here you go .. Sanvi's cute lil pink and white net Tutu is ready.

Now for the top. As I had a ballerina + fairy princess theme, I had to think of something fun and thematic for her top. So I went for a simple Zara baby t-shirt, and I was lucky to find this ballerina theme Tee. Isn't it adorable?

So as its her second birthday, I used a glitter paper "2" cutout, and just pasted it. I had the intention of using this cu-Tee later as well, so I used minimal glue for the 2 to stay just for the celebration and with a possibility to remove it later :)

So, here she is :) And the wings were add on, she picked up for herself.
I think it worked :P

Happy Bihu

My little butterfly is in the happy Bihu mood. Just that its too tough for me to capture her smiling moments. because when she is all smiles, she is not in one place.

She is wearing the traditional Assamese attire called Mekhela Chador made out our everyday towels Gamosa. Red and White is most common colors combos for Gamosas.
